I went to Woodworks in Newington over Thanksgiving break and got a block of basswood- a wood material slightly harder than balsa. I took it to school and in second flex we went down to Mr. Balkus's woodshop and cut it in the shape of a clipper ship half hull, with the help of Mr. Balkus! Afterwards I sanded and filed the wood with Julia and Ricky to smooth the edges and to make it more ship-like and nice-looking.
We also are doing videos, but haven't really put them all together so we need to do a lot more. The videos focus on the information in a way that keep the viewer interested. They feature everyone, but mostly Zach and Ricky.
In the next post I will talk about the history of clipper ships.
